Throughout Europe, Scientologists Pray for Peace

People in Europe and around the world are praying for peace. And they seek a fair and humane resolution of this conflict. May these words from the Prayer for Total Freedom bring hope to them.

“May the author of the universe enable all men to reach an understanding of their spiritual nature.”

With war raging in Ukraine, the following section gains new relevance:

“At this time, we think of those whose liberty is threatened; of those who have suffered imprisonment for their beliefs; of those who are enslaved or martyred, and for all those who are brutalized, trapped or attacked.”

The prayer then continues with the wish that all may have “freedom from war, and poverty, and want” and the freedom to be, do and have.

Scientology Prayer for Total Freedom, Delivered in Many Languages

In a video published on YouTube, Scientology Ministers throughout Europe read the Scientology Prayer for Total Freedom in their languages. By doing this, they wish to share this message of hope for people the world over.

L. Ron Hubbard’s Prayer for Total Freedom read in Swedish

Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard’s Views on the Futility of War

They begin the video with a series of quotes. Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote this more than 70 years ago, shortly after World War II. He states in Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health:

“Man is now faced, by these pyramiding hatreds, with weapons so powerful that Man himself may vanish from the Earth. There is no problem in the control of these weapons. They explode when and where Man tells them to explode. The problem is in the control of Man.”

“No self-interest can be so great as to demand the slaughter of Mankind. He who would demand it, he who would not by every rational means avert it, is insane. There is no justification for war.”

Ministers Read the Prayer in Ten Languages

In the video, Rev. Eric Roux, Vice President of the Church of Scientology European Office of Public Affairs and Human Rights leads the prayer. He reads it first in English and later in French. Then Scientology Ministers from Sweden, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain and Hungary join him. They too read the prayer in their own languages.

 Prayer End With These Words

But no matter the language, we believe people of goodwill of all faiths can embrace it plea that:

“…human rights will be preserved so that all people may believe and worship freely, so that freedom will once again be seen in our land.”

And it ends with the wish that all may gain:

“…freedom to achieve that understanding and awareness that is Total Freedom.

May God let it be so.”
