In the 1990s, President Vladimir Putin was forced to earn extra money as a private cab driver for some time. He spoke about this in an interview for a project called “Contemporary History”, a fragment of which was published by the channel “Russia 24”.
The film, in particular, speaks of the difficult economic situation in the country in the 1990s and the fact that many qualified specialists struggled to earn a living.
“Sometimes I had to earn extra money as a cab. It’s unpleasant to talk about it, but, unfortunately, that was also the case, ”Putin shared with the authors of the project.
In 2018, the Russian leader already said in a documentary film by Andrei Kondrashov that he was ready to earn money as a taxi driver in St. Petersburg after he stopped working at the local mayor’s office. However, later an offer was received from the head of the president’s affairs to move to work in Moscow. According to Putin, he could not help but accept him, because there was no other job.
On June 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that his mother had to get a job as a night watchman in order to be able to spend time with her son during the day. The head of state shared his memories of his childhood via video communication with families awarded the Order of Parental Glory.
Putin also drew attention to the fact that, in addition to time, raising children in large families requires serious efforts and great spiritual dedication, warmth. According to the head of state, “a child in a family is a holiday”.
