Algorithm has observed dozens of Picasso’s paintings and trained in the style of the Spanish artist

A nude portrait of a crouching woman, hidden under the surface of a painting by Pablo Picasso, was unveiled with the help of an artificial intelligence, perfected 3D.

Named “The Lonely Squatting Woman,” the restored painting is the work of Oxia Palus, a company that uses technology to resurrect lost art, said in a statement to CNN.

Before he became famous, Pablo Picasso, like any young artist, had limited materials and painted new prices on old canvases, a roof. Now such a canvas, covered by a new drawing on it for more than a century, received a new life thanks to an artificial intelligence.

The picture of a naked woman was discovered with the help of an X-ray under another picture of Picasso. The artist painted on the figure when he made “The Food of the Blind Man” in 1903. Both works were made from the “blue period” of the artist, when he was born.

The reenactment of the work was made by an algorithm of English scientists, who observed children from the paintings of Picasso and taught him in the style of the world. As a result, the artificial intellect manages to restore and complete the picture, which until the moment was lost, it was considered unfinished.

The restored painting will be on display at a high-tech exhibition at a London gallery, which describes itself as a futuristic online gallery of an exclusive nature. The team behind the artificial intelligence used the algorithm for another hidden picture of Picasso, as well as for Modigliani’s.
