The leader of the FETÖ movement, according to journalists, was poisoned by a Turkish intelligence officer. At the same time, the “Gulenists” assert that the rumors about the death or poisoning of the politician are untrue. This is an attempt to divert attention from Recep Erdogan’s serious illness.
Fethullah Gülen, a public, political and religious leader, whom Erdogan accuses of attempting a military coup in 2016, was found dead at his home in the United States. It is reported by OdaTV.
It is reported that on the night of November 17, the deceased Gülen was found by one of his supporters. Presumably he committed suicide. But the media voiced different options, from the fact that he is alive and well to poisoning. Now the estate where the politician lived is heavily guarded, no one is allowed there.
According to the lawyer Burak Bekiroglu, Gülen was poisoned by Turkish intelligence officer Cevdet Türkyola. He infiltrated the “closed club” of the opposition leader Erdogan. Fethullah is said to have lost his ability to speak at first, and then he died. At the same time, eyewitnesses of the poisoning, according to the journalist, swore on the Koran that they would not report any information about the attempt.
OdaTV is an opposition TV channel to Recep Erdogan. It was founded in 2007 in Istanbul. The founders Cuneyt Ozdemir and Soner Yalchin were accused of preparing a military coup.
Gulen movement supporters deny death
According to “Gulenist” and journalist Emre Uslu, Gulen is in good health, and all the rumors about his death are untrue. The noise surrounding the death of the leader of the FETÖ movement was created to distract from information about the serious illness of the Turkish president.
A video has also been posted stating that it is Fethullag Gulen on November 17th. However, there is no evidence that it was filmed yesterday, moreover, there are many cuts in the video.
Hakan Chopur, head of the Washington-based news agency Anadolu, said the American press did not cover events on the topic.
“This does not mean that nothing happened in the estate, perhaps something happened and that it was not reported to the police (at the moment). However, even the organization (of the Gulenists, – Focus) cannot hide this situation for a long time.” – writes Jopur.
There is also a third version of what happened. The author of the Habertürk channel Fatih Altayli said that rumors about the poisoning of Gulen could have been spread by the “Gülenists” themselves, in order to find out the reaction of the organization’s members to the murder. This is a test of the pen, a rehearsal of how the members of the movement will fight for power in the event of the real death of Fethullah Gulen.
Who is Fethullah Gülen?
Fethullah Gulen is a political, religious and public figure. Until 2013, he had close ties with Turkish President Recep Erdogan. In 2002, his FETÖ movement even played a major role in the victory of Erdogan’s party in the parliamentary elections.
In July 2016, an attempted military coup took place in Turkey. Erdogan said that it was organized by Gulen. Due to the accusations, the oppositionist was forced to leave Turkey, moving to the United States. Gulen himself denies any involvement in the coup attempt.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that Trump did not rule out the extradition of Gulen in Turkey, but then this information was denied by the White House.
