The electric motorcycle model of the Aurus map, named Merlon, is certified in Russia. The electric motorcycle has received type approval for transport speed, informed RIA Novosti, refering to the document.
The shoes of the so-called The type approval of the Merlon electric motorcycle allows its production and sale on the territory of Russia. The document states that the manufacturer of the motorcycle is the State Research Center NAMI. The development of the Russian electric motorcycle Aurus Merlon began in 2019 at the request of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The main purpose of the Merlon is to participate in motorcades of senior civil servants and diplomatic missions, according to official information about the vehicle provided by the developer NAMI.
The motorcycle is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum 30-minute power of 64 kilowatts (87 horsepower).
According to the accompanying drawings of the motorcycle, it will also be equipped with a “cradle”, which increases the width of the vehicle to 1.9 meters, while the length of the Aurus Merlon is almost 2.3 meters, and the height is 1.5 meters.
