Greece with new requirements for first aid kits in cars

From June 18, fines of 30 euros will be imposed

Greece is changing the requirements for the contents of first aid kits in private cars. Even tourists will have to have an isothermal rescue blanket of certain sizes, different types of gauze, sterile gloves – one set, bandage, hydrogen peroxide and other mandatory auxiliary materials. The new regulation requires 16 mandatory items in the first aid kit in cars.

The Ministry of Transport of Greece draws attention to the fact that drivers should check whether the expiration date of the materials available in the first aid kit has not expired. The first aid kit should be replaced at least every two years.

It is recommended that drivers stock up on more things that are never superfluous when traveling. The full list of requirements for equipping first aid kits is published on the website of the Ministry of Transport of Greece.

The changes have been informed to the tour operators, who must warn tourists about the changes when booking a holiday in Greece. All cars driving on the roads of Greece must comply with the requirements, the traffic police emphasize. From June 18 of this year, in case of violation and lack of mandatory auxiliary materials in the first-aid kit, a fine of 30 euros will be imposed.
