Among the drinks found are whiskeys from the time of the coronation of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II

Among the drinks found are whiskeys from the time of the coronation of British Queen Elizabeth II on February 6, 1952. Extremely valuable are the French wines from Chateau “Margot”, Chateau “De Vincennes” and Chateau “Rothschild” from the XIX century.

The former royal summer residence, along with green spaces 25 km north of Athens, will be turned into a museum with a huge park. Repairs are currently underway.

Cans of soft drinks that were not imported into Greece at the time were also found, while some of the wines and spirits were considered fit for consumption, despite the suboptimal conditions under which they were stored. Another 300 cases remain to be examined to assess the status of their contents.

The ministry is working with specialists, oenologists, to evaluate the wine collection and that the ministry plans to show part of the collection when the mansion reopens as a museum.

Tatoy’s Cellar, a historical collection of more than 50 years of exceptional cultural and oenological value, will be visited.
