Hackers have stolen the keys to generating the European green certificate

Hackers have stolen the keys to generate the European green certificate, according to Italy’s Ansa news agency, and some of the keys were allegedly published on Internet programs to create fake certificates.

The Italian authorities have announced that a decision has already been taken at European level to cancel all deficiencies issued with these keys. The Italian agency reports that a technical analysis of the situation is underway. It is not yet known the number of stolen keys or whether the problem also affects Italy.

The European authorities confirm that the keys have already been deactivated and all certificates with them are invalid.

Ansa points out that a certificate of Adolf Hitler appeared on social networks, and upon inspection it turned out that it was quite valid.

Italian authorities say the key theft was probably discovered by an Internet user who posted a series of tweets, starting with the fact that “at least in Italy, they leaked to the public domain.”

Hitler’s certificate was generated by Poland.

“The cases currently concern France and Poland, we can’t know the scale of the phenomenon, as each country keeps its own keys, or the amount of damage, because the keys may have been stolen a few months ago,” said the computer security expert. Stefano Zenaro from Italy.
