Turkey introduces a fine of 13,000 euros for evening walks on the beach

During the summer season, Turkey introduces a ban on walks in the time range between 20:00 and 08:00 local time on a total of 21 beaches in the southern provinces of Antalya, Mugla, Mersin, Adana and Hatay, with the fine for violating the ban reaching 699,000 Turkish liras (13,000 euros), and for companies – 2 million liras (37,000 euros), reports CNN Turk, quoted by BTA.

According to information from the media, the ban applies to Mediterranean beaches where endangered sea turtles nest. This list includes the beaches of Patara, Kale, Kumluca, Tekirova, Belek, Küçülot, Demirtas, Gazipasa and Olympos-Çıralı in Antalya Province, Ekincik, Dalyan, Dalaman and Fethiye in Mugla Province, Anamur, Göksu Delta, Alata, Davultepe and Kazanlü in Mersin Province, Akyatan and Yumurtalık beaches in Adana Province and Samandağ Beach in Hatay Province.

From May to September, driving vehicles, pitching tents, camping and lighting fires or barbecues are also prohibited on these beaches.
