Patriarch Cyril praying before Putin and Trump’s meeting

Russian Patriarch Kirill served “prayer before every good work” on the eve of the meeting between the Presidents of USA Donald Trump and of Russia Vladimir Putin in Alaska. The statements included in the prayer service are for “President Vladimir Vladimirovich”, as well as for the blessing of the affairs of the participants in the meeting.

Patriarch Cyril’s spacious speech does not mention the war in Ukraine after prayer and peace. The head of the ROC focuses only on the need to establish good relationships between “the leaders of the most powerful nuclear countries on the planet.” The speech emphasizes that peace in the world and the development of human civilization depend on the state of these relationships. According to the patriarch, the purpose of Alaska negotiations is ultimately “to prevent any possibility of real military conflict between Russia and the United States.” He hopes the meeting between the presidents will lead to the fact that the two countries “become allies and equal complicit in intellectual and practical, political and cultural dialogue, which can greatly influence the overall positive development of the whole human race.”

In conclusion, Patriarch Cyril requests the God for the two leaders “to achieve this important and big goal: the principled change in relations between the two major nuclear states and the establishment of a new type of relations aimed at ensuring the well -being and peace of our planet.”

The text of the word gives a clear picture of Patriarch Kirill’s attitude to what is happening in the world. It does not seek the pursuit of peace and the end of the bloodshed among his flock in Russia and Ukraine, but the pursuit of supremacy and a desire for an union between the strongest countries to impose a specified order in the world.

The First Hierarch of the Russian Church also offered a prayer to St. Herman of Alaska.
