“Gallup International” has distanced itself from the Bulgarian “Gallup”

The international association “Gallup International” (GIA – Gallup International Association) has come out with a position with which it “categorically distances itself” from the surveys of the sociological agency “Gallup” in that country. Such a message was published on the GIA website two weeks ago, but is only now gaining publicity through the news site actualno.com.

According to the notice, the association “Gallup International” and its members are not affiliated with the company in Bulgaria. Here is the text of the position:

“For some time now, public opinion surveys have been regularly published in the Bulgarian media under the titles “Gallup”, “Gallup International” or “Gallup International Balkan”. The Gallup International Association categorically dissociates itself from these surveys. Neither the Gallup International Association nor any member of the Gallup International Association participates in these surveys, nor are these surveys and their publication authorized by the Gallup International Association.

The Gallup International Association and its members are not affiliated with the company in Bulgaria conducting these surveys. The Gallup International Association assumes no responsibility for public opinion surveys other than its own. We require that our surveys be authorized by us and credited in full as “Gallup International” (and not as “Gallup” or “Gallup Survey”),” writes the GIA.

Where is the problem?

Presented in this way, the GIA announcement does not provide information on whether the Bulgarian Gallup is still part of the international association or has lost its license. It is also unclear which studies, which are not recognized, are being targeted.
