More than 1,400 legendary items from the Mecca of cinema are up for auction
Several dresses worn by Marilyn Monroe for “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and “No Other Business Like Show Business” will be auctioned off this summer, along with 1,400 other legendary items in Hollywood history.
In three days in July, Turner Classic Movie and Julian’s Action will team up to auction off Captain America’s “Captain America: The First Avenger” shield, a Givenchy suit worn by Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” as well as Jules Winfield’s portfolio from “Criminal”.
One of the six original Star Wars: New Hope helmets will also be among the bids.
Props from the Harry Potter movies, such as Draco Malfoy’s “Nimbus 2001” broom and Voldemort’s magic wand, as well as the hammer used by Chris Hemsworth in “Thor: The Dark World” are some of the items connoisseurs will bid for.
The yacht, once owned by industrialist Paul Getty and used in the outdoor scenes of “Friend Joey,” starring Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth and Kim Novak, will also be put up for auction.
The auction will take place from July 15 to 17 at Julian’s Auctions, Beverly Hills.
