“There were 268 murders of women in the country in 2020. That number rose by 15 percent in 2021 to 307,” said Family and Social Welfare Minister Derya Yanak, the event’s organizer.
Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul also attended the conference. “Our ministry has set up 215 offices to investigate domestic violence and the murder of women,” he said.
For his part, the Minister of Education Mahmut Özer announced that since 2014 the number of female students has started to grow and in 2021 has exceeded that of male students.
