EU Bishops congratulate Metsola on her election as EP President
Statement of H.Em. Card. Jean-Claude Hollerich, President of the Commission of the Bishops Conferences of the European Union, on the election of Roberta Metsola as President of the European Parliament on Tuesday 18 January 2022.
“On behalf of the Bishops of the European Union, I would like to express my sincere congratulations to Roberta Metsola on her election as President of the European Parliament.
We already had the opportunity to work with Ms Metsola and we acknowledge her qualities: she is a brilliant person who will certainly be able to fulfil this important institutional role in an excellent manner.
We look forward to continuing this collaboration for the common good, bringing public institutions closer to European citizens, making young people protagonists of European politics and promoting policies centered on human person, family and community.”
