BAHÁ’Í WORLD CENTRE — The latest article published on The Bahá’í World website examines the American Bahá’í community’s efforts to counter the effects of racism.

The Bahá’í Response to Racial Injustice and Pursuit of Racial Unity: Part 2” is the second of two articles on race in America. Together, parts 1 and 2 survey over a century of Bahá’í efforts in the US to counter racial injustice and work for race unity against a backdrop of racial strife and tension in the country.

Part 2 looks at the period between 1996 and 2021 during which the worldwide Bahá’í community was set on a path of greater systematization of its endeavors to serve humanity, guided by the Universal House of Justice.

During that 25-year period, in areas “where developments had gone the furthest,” explain the authors, “the American Bahá’í community could see new models of community life emerging and glimpses of transformation at the grassroots. These lessons offered hope for genuine advancement in the community’s pursuit of race unity at the local and national levels.”

The Bahá’í World website presents a collection of essays and articles that explore themes of relevance to the progress and well-being of humanity, highlight advancements in the worldwide Bahá’í community at the levels of thought and action, and reflect on the dynamic history of the Bahá’í Faith.
