This morning, a former graduate of the high school located on the territory of the nunnery in the city of Serpukhov, Russia, detonated an improvised explosive device. Eight people were injured, seven of them children. The perpetrator himself died of blood loss, law enforcement officials said. According to preliminary information, the reason for this act was a conflict between the former high school student and graduates and teachers at the high school.

The former graduate, Vladislav Struzhenkov, became interested in computer games, including shooting games. He also loved thrillers, and one of his favorite movies was the Killer Puzzle series. The former high school student planned an attack during the morning prayer, but the improvised explosive device exploded at the entrance. Investigative sources say the young man was carrying a machete-like melee weapon.

The Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov, added that the lives of children are now not in danger.

According to preliminary information from the Investigative Committee, a former student of an Orthodox parish school blew up a makeshift device at the entrance to an educational institution, which is located in the possession of the Vvedensky nunnery.

Investigators opened criminal cases under articles on attempted murder and illegal circulation of explosives.
