The impressive lava flow with crazy speed captured this Friday, October 15 in La Palma.

An impressive flow of lava has been unleashed at high speed from Cumbre Vieja, the volcano erupted for several weeks in La Palma. The images may mark the history of the Canary Island.

The situation in La Palma is far from stabilizing. While the lava is gaining ground and animals are trapped, it is a new flow that occurred this Friday, October 15.

Located in the north of the crater of Cumbre Vieja, this lava flow has just taken a quite spectacular turn.

The images immortalized on Twitter by Involcan, the Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands, show how fast the molten lava is advancing. It is a real “tsunami” of fire that escapes from the volcano, only a few meters from a house. The intensity of the volcanic activity on the island does not seem to calm down in the next days.

A double seismic swarm

Thursday morning, the seismic activity of the island has continued to intensify. An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was located in Mazo, one of the most important since the beginning of the eruption. According to the geologist of the IGN, the Spanish Geographic Institute, Rosa Mateos, this activity is similar to “seismic swarms”, a succession of earthquakes that occur in a given place over several day

A phenomenon directly related to two reservoirs of magma that “expel rock and generate earthquakes” according to him. The activity on the island is still very strong as shown in the images below of a house that collapses under the power of the lava flow.
