Steven Seagal sells his mansion near Moscow

Steven Seagal sells his mansion for seven times more than he bought it for.

There is no end to the dramas in the city ofSteven Seagal, one of the most recognizable actors of the generation of action heroes, has been living in Russia, in the luxurious Rublyovka district of the Moscow region, since 2019. There he bought a two-story house with a spacious yard and an additional guest house, which in 2018 cost 100 million rubles (about 1 million euros).

Now the giant, 1.93 m tall, has decided to sell the property for 700 million rubles (just over 7.6 million euros) because “the time has simply come”. This is his explanation, followed by the statement that he has no intention of leaving the country. In addition, the actor owns other properties in various regions of Russia, so there is no danger of being left without a roof over his head. He has no intention of leaving the country

The house is not distinguished by any special architecture, but it is spacious and offers moderate American luxury. On 500 sq. m. there are 4 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, a cinema, a winery and even a luggage room – a necessity at a time when the actor travels a lot around the world. On the remaining 1500 sq. m. there is a guest house with a Russian bathhouse and sauna, a barbecue area, a garage for two cars and a spacious yard, designed by a landscape specialist. The mansion is under 24-hour security. The atmosphere is luxurious, but without frills.

After the house was announced for sale in January, speculation began about the financial situation of the 73-year-old Hollywood star. He is no longer actively filming in the cinema and has practically ended his acting career, especially after in 2018 he was again accused of sexual harassment by his colleagues in the USA. However, there is no investigation due to the statute of limitations. It is possible that this threat influenced his decision to move to Russia. In 2016, Seagal received Serbian citizenship, and then Russian, personally granted to him by Vladimir Putin, and became a member of the parliamentary party “A Just Russia”, which supports the president.

The doors of Hollywood are now closed to the actor, but he also shows other qualities – that of a businessman. He participates in business projects and owns shares in several companies. So the sale of the property is not out of necessity, but rather a rational redistribution of assets.

The actor has repeatedly said that he is satisfied with his life in Russia. This can be partly explained by his origin – his paternal grandparents are Russian Jews, who once moved overseas. Seagal himself has seven children from several marriages and one relationship with a nanny. His first wife is Japanese, the last and current one is Mongolian.
