Jihadism in Europe in 2025

While European political parties are building sanitary cordons or red lines on certain parties that have been democratically voted for by the citizens in their different countries, simply for not sharing their ideology with them, a phenomenon that is certainly dangerous and that threatens the human rights of European nations, as well as against each of its members, is spreading throughout EUROPE. I am referring to Jihadism born of radical Islam.

That is why at the end of the year I have put myself together to make a small summary of some events that clearly show us a phenomenon that is growing. TOTALITARISM AND THE VORACITY OF ISLAMIC TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS has no limits and that is why their way of understanding the civilization that surrounds them and their idea of ​​modifying it to adapt it to their radical faith must be constantly studied.

Today, practically in EUROPE you cannot mess with Islam without being considered racist, but you can be anti-Semitic and advocate against the Jewish people and be well regarded. Because? Dark interests of politicians and organizations that undoubtedly make money by promoting these events. Biasing the debate and promoting the culture of canceling everything that promotes healthy, free and democratic discourse.

In the brief summary updated to the maximum and with verifiable data on jihadist terrorism in Europe in this 2025 that is ending, I have tried to be aseptic, limiting the text to the most relevant facts that provide us with a general context.

In the past, Al Qaeda or the Islamic State controlled vast territories in parts of the world, from which they controlled jihadist groups, especially in places where they could have some complicity from authorities or from their citizens. However, although this is no longer the case, the localized phenomenon of local cells, lone wolves, etc., that the only thing they seek is the publicity that such acts cause in the national and international media. Without forgetting, of course, the phenomenon of social networks, with easy access and control, which spreads its messages to a population, perhaps not so indoctrinated (European) but easily radicalized, due to the social hardships suffered by certain groups.

In Germany, for example, between 2020 and 2025, executed attacks and numerous frustrated attempts were recorded, showing a persistent threat that is increasing every year. He Global Terrorism Index 2025 points out that lone or low-tech attacks predominate in the Western world: attacks with knives or machetes, as well as homemade explosive devices and vehicles launched at high speed on innocent crowds. Of course, each case that ends with a certain number of deaths is celebrated by these groups, as if it were a global victory, the method being susceptible to being repeated elsewhere.

A man stabbed several people in a market, causing 1 death and several injuries. The aggressor was being monitored as a terrorist, but was free, without any further interest. -Attack on the island of Oléron (France), November 5, 2025. A man drove his car at high speed into a crowd of people, who were walking without problems, on a peaceful day. Shouting Allahu Akbar, the driver attacked them, leaving a trail of citizens with broken legs, bloodied, and although the authorities minimized the matter, as there were no fatalities, it was investigated as a possible Islamist terrorist act.

The above serves as a detail of what happens in Europe, without forgetting that on many occasions the truth is hidden from us citizens in order not to alarm us and so that we think freely about the possibility that there are enormous holes or diverse interests surrounding this issue. Jihadist terrorism is here to stay in Europe.

In the various reports that are handled by the intelligence services, police, etc., of various European countries, the case of Spain is certainly unique. This country closed 2025 with 100 arrested for jihadism, the highest number since the 11-M attacks in 2004. These arrests occurred in 64 anti-terrorist operations and represent a considerable increase compared to 2024. A significant number of those arrested were involved in indoctrination, apology, financing and planning of violent acts, but not only in Spain, but throughout Europe. It is as if said country had become a comfortable refuge for these jihadists and they could carry out these activities, despite the arrests, with greater freedom than in other countries. 14 of those arrested were minors, thus highlighting the recruitment of youth. A certainly important danger, because these young people can commit attacks without being considered criminals. Likewise, the collaboration between the various Spanish and Italian police forces dismantled various organized groups that were preparing violent actions.

Without wanting to enter into a dynamic of political disaffection, the data in Spain is terrifying, if we take into account that jihadist pressure is permanent, that they have unlimited funds and that if 100 operatives have been arrested, it is surely because there are many more.
