Miss Universe 2017 Russia‘s representative dies after horrific moose accident

The representative of Russia in the Miss Universe 2017 contest has died after a serious road accident in her homeland, according to an official statement from her fashion agency Modus Vivendis.

30-year-old Ksenia Alexandrova was riding in the passenger seat of her husband’s Porsche on July 5 when a moose suddenly jumped out onto the road. The car hit the animal, its body broke through the windshield and came to rest on the young woman’s head. As a result of the severe trauma, Alexandrova fell into a coma. She remained in this state until August 13, when she was pronounced dead.

Ksenia represented Russia at the Miss Universe 2017 contest in Las Vegas, but failed to qualify among the top 16 finalists. She and her husband had been married just four months before the accident.

“Ksenia was bright and talented. She knew how to inspire, support and give warmth to everyone around her. For us, she will forever remain a symbol of beauty, kindness and inner strength. We sincerely grieve and offer our deepest condolences to her family, friends and all who were fortunate enough to know her,” commented the fashion agency “Modus Vivendis”.
