The park for XII months, which was threatened with a gas cut at the beginning of the heating season, managed to change the supplier of blue fuel, so that animals will not freeze to death this winter. However, as the owner of the park, Mikhail Pinchuk, told Focus, the question of how to pay for gas remains unresolved for them, the bill for which has more than tripled compared to last year.

The owner of the park said that the director of Kievoblgaz Sales Denis Smolyakov, during a meeting with him, said that their enterprise is tied to gas supplies from only one supplier from his own group of companies and buys gas only at a price that, according to Smolyakov, is unpredictably set by this supplier de facto, without reference to any deadlines, including retroactively.
“We were advised to turn to smaller and more flexible natural gas suppliers, which we did – we entered into a supply agreement with a private trader – Askania Energy. sector “, – said Pinchuk.
In addition, XII Months Park signed a framework agreement with Naftogaz Ukrainy, which gives it the opportunity to quickly and easily switch to the largest national supplier in the event that unforeseen cataclysms begin in the market in terms of gas supplies.
“This same enterprise performs the function of a” supplier of last resort “if something happens to private gas traders,” Pinchuk emphasized.
The owner of the park said that at the moment they are waiting for the actual change of supplier and hope that the incident with the supply of gas with a “retroactive” price for the zoo is over.
“We have reached a consensus on recalculating gas at a more or less acceptable price for the period August-October and we hope that Kiyvoblgaz sbyt will fulfill its promises in terms of mutual settlement,” Pinchuk said.
Also, the owner of the XII Months Park expressed gratitude to the employees of the NEURC (National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities), who, in his words, “provided great organizational and advisory assistance.”
“It’s nice that the state regulator took our request seriously and organized an official meeting with regional gas companies, as a result of which our negotiations were quick and effective,” said the owner of the Park.
However, Pinchuk said, despite the change of supplier, they still have an unresolved problem: how to pay for gas at new market prices.
“The bill we paid for November – not yet a winter month – amounted to UAH 630 thousand, at UAH 35 thousand per 1000 cubic meters. We understand that in the cold winter months the bills will go over a million, even without a significant increase in the cost of gas. will jump further – we just have no plans yet, except for a clear understanding that the animals must be heated and fed, “said the owner of the Park for XII months.
According to Pinchuk, in November 2020 they paid a little more than UAH 203,000 for gas. It follows from this that the bill for blue fuel for the Park has more than tripled compared to the same period last year.
Pinchuk also assured that the Park has been open for XII months every day and will be glad to every guest.
